Dwight Hamilton Baldwin was an American entrepreneur who founded the Baldwin Piano Company in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1862. He began by selling pianos from other manufacturers but soon began producing his own instruments, which quickly gained a reputation for their quality and craftsmanship.
